Lane 1 (Little Adults Need Exercise) was formed in 2007 by Ken Hardy who was, at the time, working as a European Sales & Marketing Director for a major service based company. Ken’s passion for sport and his belief that all young people should have the opportunity to be engaged in high quality physical activity, led him to leave this high pressure role and pursue what he believes is more important to the welfare of young people today.

This growing company already has over 25 coaches covering a wide range of sports and activities and, importantly, are all qualified to minimum level 2 standards.

Lane 1 also works closely with Derbyshire Sport and their “Coach Mark” accreditation. Ken is a coach assessor for this award. This standard assures schools that the quality of delivery and professionalism is maintained without compromise across all key stages from infants to post 16.

Lane 1 is now proud to announce the sponsorship of several sports persons who have excelled within their own specialism’s which enhances the importance of performance pathways through the PE & Sports Strategy for Young People (PESSYP).

Finally Lane 1 has recently formed a new partnership with a data analysis company called Coach Stats. This company offers a package that has been developed to process PESSYP survey data and allow School Sports Partnerships to simply measure, monitor and compare the performance of their schools, clusters and partnership. It has been designed to enhance multi-agency working at a local level and demonstrate outcomes and performance against targets.
